Supernatural vs. Natural Powers
Since all powers emanate from One Source, you could say that all powers expressing through you are "supernatural" or natural, as you prefer.
All powers and abilities, whether you call them "supernatural" or "natural" are developed in accord with natural laws. These laws to go beyond the world of Newtonian physics and move into the realm of quantum physics. They are the Laws of the Mind and Spirit, and they can easily and effortlessly over-ride the known laws of physics which relate to the physical dimension of experience.
Some people use the term "natural" to refer to any abilities and powers originating, or appearing to originate, from your physical self and from the physical realm - your ability to walk, to talk, and act in any way that can be traced to the activities or your physical body, and anything else you experience that you can observe using your physical senses and logically explain using the known laws of physics.
They use the term "supernatural" to refer to everything that is not perceptible using physical senses, and may include here both "psychic" and "spiritual abilities.
Psychic or Magic vs. Spiritual Powers
Supernatural powers are divided into psychic or magic and spiritual according to the conscious of the individual through whom they are expressing.
There are essentially two ways of living in the world, depending on whether you perceive yourself to be at-one-with the Source or separate from the Source.
Spiritual state of consciousness is a consciousness of oneness. It is all encompassing. There is no division between you and me, your power and my power - there is ONLY ONE Power expressing through everything, thus one living from this state of consciousness has access to all power. He is only using it for good because he is expressing himself as being the One Living Spirit expressing through everyone and everything.
The one living from the consciousness of separation may develop all kinds of powers, but they will be as limited in scope as is his consciousness. A magician, a psychic, a witch may develop all kinds of powers. He may feel thrilled with the power he is able to wield and may be tempted to use it indiscriminately until he begins to experience that consequences of misused power, and becomes motivated to follow the higher path, the path that leads to the ultimate freedom and fulfillment.
As you evolve in consciousness, you realize that whatever you give, you give to yourself, and whatever you take, you take from yourself, even if it may not be immediately obvious in the physical reality.
Whatever your current state of conscious, we are all evolving toward the realization of the One Limitless Self expressing through everyone and everything.
Spiritual practices simply accelerate the natural process of evolution.
What's in The Light
The Light is the Source of all information, knowledge, and all power behind the supernatural abilities you can express.
You experience it whenever you have that "Aha" experience, when suddenly you grasp the meaning of something you have been trying to understand.
You can unleash supernatural power to accomplish anything if you only knew how to do those things, and the Inner Light helps reveals to you all the secrets, all the mysteries, and suddenly the power that seemed almost impossible to express before, becomes a natural part of you. You got it. The Light revealed to you how to express it and all you need to do is use it.
If you have a treasure sitting in the attic and not knowing that it is there, because it's sitting in the dark, out of your sight, out of your consciousness awareness, it will not be of much help to you. But if you go up to the attic and you turn on the light, you can discover all kinds of wonders that you had already and you didn't even know you had.
In the same way, all the powers of the universe are already within you, but you need the Light to reveal them to you, so that you can be aware of them, and then be able to use them.
Everything that you seek is contained within the Light. Light is information and the power. It is also the essence of every power you desire to express, and it is the power of revelation of that power.
Light is also conscious awareness. When you direct your conscious awareness to an idea, it is like directing a flash-light upon some dark corner where what seemed invisible and unknown to you or out of your reach, suddenly becomes part of your consciousness as well as part of your being.
The Limitless Light some call God, and the one who is filled-with-Light, is an illumined or God-realized being. He is free to express all the attributes of god, all-powers, because they are all contained within the Light. And every human being has access to all the powers of god-head if he would just fill consciousness with the Light, thus becoming fully awakened to his true Self, to all that he in reality is.
From Mortal to Immortal
Consciousness
Your perception will influence what do you identify yourself with. As long as you are identifying yourself with your physical body, as long as you are perceiving yourself to be separate from the Source you are living a mortal state of consciousness. The powers that express through you will be limited only by your consciousness and perception.
When you begin to identify yourself with your Infinite Self, then you begin to live from the spiritual consciousness and more and more powers and attributes of this Infinite Self begin to express through you naturally, and spontaneously, as miracles and wonders begin to follow you.
In between this ordinary human consciousness and the spiritual consciousness is a psychic or magic consciousness. A magician, witch, psychic may develop all kinds of powers in many different ways and many people are content to settle for it, enjoying the ability to create mostly everything they desire using the power of their minds and working with energy and consciousness.
Using the Law of Attraction also falls under this realm, because while you seek to attract something, you are still perceiving yourself as separate from it.
The one living from a magical state of consciousness still lives from "I" vs. "them" and I got to overcome them, perceiving challenges to be separate from him. The one living from a spiritual state of consciousness is not fixing anyone or anything, nor is he trying to make anything happen. He is in a state of allowing the perfection, contained within the Light, to effortlessly express through him.
In contrast to magical states of consciousness, when you live from a spiritual state of consciousness and you are not struggling to manifest a particular need, but whatever you need begins to flow into your life effortlessly. You also live in this word, but not of this world, under the guidance of the Infinite Light expressing through your physical self. Your physical self is then more and more just a vehicle for expression of your Infinite Spirit.
You can compare your natural or physical self to a drop of water, and your infinite supernatural, or spiritual self to an ocean. While you live identified with your physical self, you can express only little bit of power. When you identify with your supernatural self, there is no end to the power that can express through you.
It Is Only A Matter Of Accepting
Your Supernatural Limitless Self
Many spiritual seekers go around "seeking" this consciousness of oneness. However, it is not a matter of seeking it, but rather of accepting is a a truth about yourself and then living from that state of consciousness. You do that by contemplating your Infinite Self. Whatever you contemplate, you begin to experience in your life, because energy follows consciousness.
This excerpt from "Life and Teachings of the Masters of the Far East" by Baird T. Spalding, sums up this practice:
"Stop for a moment and just think of the allness of God or Primal Cause with no beginning or end, with universal scope, and surround yourself in this. As you become faithful and worship this, and this alone, ONE GOD, ONE ALMIGHTY PRESENCE - you will find that the vibrations of your body will change from the human to the God or Primal vibration. As you think, live, move and become one with this vibration, you do worship; and what you worship, you idealize, you become."

This brief excerpt that follows regarding the development of supernatural powers is extracted from Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
All supernatural powers are developed through the practice of concentration, meditation and absorption.
Concentration consists of holding the mind fixed upon the Inner Light and the power/ability you desire to attain. To do this, you can imagine yourself standing in the center of the sphere of dazzling, brilliant white Light, allowing everything else to fade from your awareness.
Meditation is a prolonged concentration. Ordinarily a thought-wave arises, remains in the mind for a moment, and then subsides, to be succeeded by another wave. In the practice of meditation, a succession of identical waves are raised in the mind; and this is done so quickly that no wave is allowed to subside before another rises to take its place. The effect is one of perfect continuity.
After your mind has been focused on a single thought through meditation for some time, you'll reach the stage of absorption. At this point you'll feel that you have completely merged with the object of your focus, that there is no longer separation between you and what you are contemplating, but instead that you have become the very idea you have been focused on.
Concentration, meditation and absorption together form self-control. Self-control on specific supernatural power brings that power into expression.
It has been said that if the mind can be made to flow uninterruptedly toward the same object for 12 seconds, this may be called concentration.
If the mind can continue in that concentration for 12 x 12 seconds (2 minutes and 24 seconds), this may be called meditation.
If the mind can continue in that meditation for 12 x 2 minutes and 24 seconds, (28 minutes and 48 seconds) this may be called lower absorption.
And if this absorption can be maintained for 12 times that period (5 hours, 45 minutes, and 36 seconds) this may be called total absorption.
By completing the above process on any specific ability or strength, one obtains that ability or strength.

- By self-control on mental impressions, you develop the power to know past lives.
- By self-control over any kind of strength, such as that of an elephant, you develop that kind of supernatural power.
- By self-control on the pit of the throat, you develop the power to subdue hunger and thirst.
- By self-control on nerve-currents using the breath, you may levitate, walk on water, or the like.
- By self-control on the relation of the ear to the ether you gain distant hearing.
- By self-control on relations of the body to the ether, you are able to teleport.
- By self-control on the mind when it is separated from the body, all coverings are removed from the Light - and you get to experience yourself as the Limitless Light.

Supernatural powers may appear by birth, through the use of psycho-active drugs, through incantations - chanting mantras, through inner purification, and through concentrated thought.
Transformation into another state occurs by direction the flow of creative energy. Creative energy is moved into action by removal of inner obstacles.
The obstacles to appearance of supernatural powers are scattered mind, scattered emotions and dissipation of energy through sensual pursuits.
Through meditation on the Source of All Powers, all kinds of powers begin to emerge spontaneously. The more you use the powers that you already have constructively for the good of all, the more powers become spontaneously unleashed through you.

From Dreams to Actualization
People sometimes email me saying "I want to have "x" supernatural powers. Is it possible?"
Developing any powers and abilities follows the same logical, common-sense process:
You begin with an idea. You might have read about someone who has an ability you would like to have, or you saw it in a movie, or in some way you concluded that having certain ability would make you life easier and more fun.
If this ability is very different than anything you have accomplished or experienced so far, it may require a stretch of imagination to accept that you can express such an ability.
If you have read about an ability in a sci-fi book or saw it in a movie, you may not even be sure if it is humanly possible to express such ability. You may have heard the saying "if you can conceive it, you can achieve it". You may also bear in mind that you are always experiencing as your reality nothing more or less than the effects of your current level of consciousness.
Logic dictates that if you want to learn how to do something, you seek those who are able to do it, or who have accomplished at least anything similar and can help to direct you in developing the skills that you will need to get from where you are to where you want to be.
Whatever supernatural abilities you desire to develop, someone has already developed them.
Moreover, you are always attracting into your life people, things and circumstances that match your level of consciousness and those that can help you to get to the next level of your evolution; people, things and circumstances who can help you to get one step closer to what you'd like to accomplish.
Just like a university professor is not likely to teach math to children going to elementary school, if you need to learn the basics of using the power of the mind, you are not likely to attract those who are able to accomplish things that are far beyond what you are ready to experience and express. But, you will always attract those who can help you to move further along from where you are, and you will always be shown the next step, and will get all the help you need in any way that you are receptive to it and are willing to apply and practice.
Exercising Supernatural Powers
Developing any skills and abilities including supernatural powers is like practicing to become a pianist. To become a world-class pianist, you'll have to practice, and the more you practice the faster progress will you make. Any natural talents you have may help you to make faster progress.
However, no matter what is your current skill level, if you are practicing the skills in logical order, mastering first the basics and then expanding your skills in logical progression, you will always experience a noticeable and measurable progress.
An aspiring pianist will begin by learning how to read music notation, practice music scales and simple music pieces. As he develops technique, agility and music sense by studying those who developed mastery before him, he will be able to play better and better.
The one desiring to express supernatural powers will begin by grasping the laws of the mind and spirit, by developing control over what goes through his mind, and by expanding his consciousness, contemplating, meditating and absorbing himself in that which is eternal and all-encompassing, the Source out of which all supernatural powers come from.
This Source is the main subject of every spiritual and esoteric tradition, and each one of them offers clear guidance in how to go about experiencing it.
Throughout history, for variety of reasons, people have attempted to complicate that which is utterly simple and you are free to pursue the simple and straightforward path or to complicate it to your heart's content, even to the extent that makes it impossible to reach your desired goal.
For example, meditating on the Light is the simple and straightforward way, because Light contains within itself all supernatural powers, all-knowledge, all-information. But you may also spend lifetimes seeking in the dark and never finding that which is right before you, and right within you.
Darkness stands for fear and ignorance. Fear and ignorance are the main obstacles to exercising and expressing the supernatural powers. Love and light dissolve obstacles and open the way.
You've already heard the expressions "Light shall set you free" or "Truth shall set you free" - they are one and the same thing, as Light makes you aware of that which you already are and which you already have - of that which is all-powerful, everywhere present, and all-knowing.
That Source with all the supernatural powers is right within you, and you may contact it directly within you by meditating upon It. Whatever you desire to know will be revealed to you directly from within you - if you are open to such revelation.
The Supernatural You
Your ability to accomplish anything begins with what you identify yourself with. What are you aware of being when you say or think "I AM". How you experience and define yourself will determine what will you be able to do, experience and express.
Your sense of identity will determine what you believe yourself to be able to do and your beliefs will determine what you will be attempt to do and what you will be able to do.
Your sense of identity will determine how you choose to think and act in your daily life, and the thought processes and actions you engage in consistently will in time become habits.
You always become that which you contemplate, that which you hold in your consciousness.
To develop your supernatural powers, you begin by adopting a consciousness, thought processes and habits of a supernatural lifestyle - to the best of your ability.
It is just the same as adopting any other role. You decide what you want to be, you learn all you can about those who have developed the skills and abilities, you incorporate appropriate thought processes into your lifestyle and you begin to express more and more from that level of consciousness.
Whether you want to be a carpenter, or a dancer, a healer or a supernatural being - the basic principles of becoming whatever you choose to become is the same.
